It's admittedly something of a challenge to qualify the appeal of the 2016 Dodge Challenger, our resident rear-wheel-drive sports coupe. After all, when it comes to an auto this awesome, where does one even begin?
So, in lieu of doing so, we here at Galeana's Van Dyke Dodge would prefer to link the following video. Team up with Autotrader critic Jabari Jones, as he lists off some of the Challenger's most salient qualities:
Simply put, the Challenger's base powertrain -- a 3.6-liter V6 -- is an absolute beast. Served up standard with the entry-level SXT trim, this six-banger makes a muscly 305 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque. The V6 couples with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and -- like all Challenger models -- is available only with rear-wheel drive.
Its performance prowess is evidenced by its 0-to-60 mph sprint time, too. Capable of doing the deed in just 6.4 seconds, it's clear that this entry-level engine means business.
