The promises of the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon have been lofty, and with not a lot of hard, fast numbers attached. But since it was unveiled at the New York Auto Show last week, we’re starting to see just how the brand’s most powerful production muscle car will stack up. The results are pretty inspiring.
With 840 horsepower and 770 lb-ft of torque, the SRT Demon will be the most powerful muscle car in the world the moment it rolls off the line. Combined with a 2.3-second sprint to sixty, and a quarter-mile time under ten seconds, it’s power benchmark also carries a NHRA certification. Like the SRT Hellcat, the Demon houses a retooled version of the 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8, and numerous other performance goodies. For those wondering, yes, this car is one hundred percent street legal.
