Warren MI - 2024 Ram 1500 EV's Overview

Exterior - Ram Dealer serving Warren MI

Ram and Chevrolet have both taken a similar opening approach in that they will exclusively offer a crew cab with four full-size doors to start. We may see additional cab options in the future depending on the success of these vehicles, but crew cabs are by far the most popular option with the standard Ram 1500 and the standard Silverado 1500. Ram has not announced bed specifications, but the photos of the prototype suggest that it may be the 67-inch box available with the standard model. It could also be a bit longer as is the case with the 2024 Chevrolet 1500 EV, which has a 71-inch bed.

Interior - 2024 Ram 1500 EV in Warren MI

The 2024 Ram 1500 EV and 2024 Chevrolet 1500 EV will both have front bucket seats and a rear bench and thus seating for up to five people. Ram has only provided us with a brief glimpse of the interior, and it looks to have a more upscale aesthetic that one would expect from the standard Tradesman. As for legroom, Ram and Chevrolet take different approaches with their pickups, and we expect that to continue with the EVs. Chevrolet emphasizes driver legroom, and that usually puts it at best in class. Ram, on the other hand, splits it more evenly between the front and second row. That still results in plenty of legroom for almost all drivers but also more comfortable accommodations for rear passengers.

Ram 1500 EV Technical specs

Both vehicles will have their manufacturers’ latest infotainment implementations, which is Uconnect in the case of the Ram. They will also have the largest touch screens that both brands offer, which is about 13 inches diagonal. With the standard models, Ram and Chevrolet tend to add driver-assistance technologies as you move up trim levels in order to keep the lower trim levels as affordable as possible. With the EVs, both will come loaded with automatic headlamps and high-beam control, traffic-adaptive cruise control with stop and go, a frontal collision avoidance system, blind-spot monitoring and much more.

What matters most to the average consumer when it comes to EVs is range, and Ram has told us that the 2024 Ram 1500 EV gets up to 500 miles of range. That is best in class. It is 100 miles more than the Chevrolet model and 200 miles more than Ford’s F-150 EV. Both models are able to charge with Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 connections. Neither manufacturer has released full specifications. Chevrolet has said that you can charge 100 miles of range in 10 minutes. Ram is working on a much more sophisticated system that will charge up to 20 miles of range per minute. The real-word result will probably not be that good, but they are expected to be far better than what the competition provides.

Trim Levels - 2024 Ram 1500 EV dealer

Both the 2024 Ram 1500 EV and 2024 Chevrolet 1500 EV are expected to have a starting price point in the mid-$40,000 range. As of this writing, Ram has not discussed trim levels beyond introducing the truck in its base configuration. A number of automotive websites refer to it as the Tradesman because this is the name that Ram has traditionally used for its base pickup models. That said, the Tradesman traditionally has a minimalistic loadout, which is certainly not the case with this model. Then again, Chevrolet refers to its base model as the WT, which stands for work truck. For the purposes of this 2024 Ram 1500 EV vs 2024 Chevrolet 1500 EV comparison, we will focus on the Tradesman and WT models.
